Common reasons

What people come in for

These are the reasons we hear most. We do not say that acupuncture or herbs will fix any of them.

  • Tight shoulders and backs

After a long week at a desk, a shift on your feet or a weekend of lifting.

  • Headaches that return

People come in when a headache has become a regular visitor.

  • Sleep

Trouble falling asleep, or waking in the night and not getting back.

  • Digestion

Stomach upset, bloating and irregular days. Herbs are often part of the talk here.

  • Feeling worn down

Tired after a long winter or a busy season, and wanting a quieter visit and a plan.

  • Seasonal changes

Some families come in at the turn of each season to talk it through.

What this page does not say, and when to see a doctor

Many of these have causes that need a doctor's attention. We do not diagnose, we do not promise a result and we do not ask you to stop anything your doctor has given you. Your acupuncturist listens, suggests a plan and tells you honestly if a visit is not the right step.

See your doctor first, or call 911, for chest pain, trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache, weakness or numbness on one side, blood in your stool or vomit, or a headache with fever and a stiff neck. If you are not sure, call us.
