Herbs and acupuncture from one family, in Quincy

Two licensed acupuncturists and a dispensary of our own. Your acupuncturist writes your formula, and the people who fill it work down the hall.

How people come in

Three ways to come in

Come for needles, for herbs or for both. Everyone starts with a conversation.

  • Acupuncture

A visit with one of our two acupuncturists: a talk about your health, a look at your tongue and pulse, and fine needles.

    About acupuncture
  • Acupuncture and herbs

Many people leave with a formula our dispensary fills, written for them and checked against what they already take.

    About herbal formulas
  • Herbs and refills

Already on a formula? Come to the counter for a refill or a question. We check it against your list of medicines.

    About the dispensary

The dispensary

A dispensary behind the front desk

Formulas are weighed, bagged and labeled here by our own team. The label lists every herb in the bag, so you, your pharmacist and your doctor can see what you are taking.

  • Your acupuncturist writes the formula after your visit

  • We check it against the list of medicines you bring

  • Raw herbs, granules, pills and teas

  • A written list of the herbs in every bag

What we offer

Visits, formulas and the hands-on work

A visit's fee depends on its kind and its length, and you hear it before you book.

Acupuncture

Fine, single-use needles at points chosen after you talk.

  • First visit

Your history, tongue and pulse, a treatment and a plan for the next few visits.

  • Follow-up visit

A shorter visit that builds on the last one.

  • Ear seeds

Tiny seeds taped to the ear for you to press between visits.

  • Needles with a formula

Acupuncture and herbs in one visit, with the formula filled the same day.

Herbal medicine

Formulas written for you and filled in our dispensary.

  • A formula written for you

Chosen after your visit, with a written list of every herb.

  • Raw herbs and granules

Cooked at home as a tea, or stirred into hot water.

  • Pills

    Ready-made formulas that travel well.

  • Teas

Gentle blends for the kitchen, between formulas.

Cupping and moxibustion

Hands-on work, with or without needles.

  • Cupping

Glass cups set on the back or shoulders for a few minutes.

  • Moxibustion

Warmth from burning mugwort, held near the skin and never on it.

  • Both together

Cups and warmth in one visit, with or without needles.

  • A visit without needles

Herbs, cupping or moxibustion alone, if you prefer.

Between visits

Help that does not need an appointment.

  • Refills at the counter

Checked against your list of medicines.

  • Questions by phone

Call the front desk and we pass it to your acupuncturist.

  • A herb list to take with you

Show it to your pharmacist or your doctor.

  • A note to your doctor

We write to your doctor if you ask us to.
