About

A family practice with a dispensary of its own

Suk and Yong Cai opened the practice with one treatment room and a wall of herb drawers. Their son Kin joined as a second acupuncturist.

Dawid and Michael round out the team of five. Most days you will see more than one of us: the acupuncturist who treats you, the person who fills your formula and the person who answers the phone. We write things down, we explain before we begin and we tell you when to see your doctor instead.

The acupuncturists

Who you will see for a visit

Each is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The license for each is in the footer.

  • Suk Cai, an acupuncturist in a linen shirt and apron, stands at a worktable of jars and bowls in a bright room.

    Suk Cai

    Licensed acupuncturist and co-founder

    • Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) · MA Lic. 000000

Suk writes most of the practice's herbal formulas. She likes to begin with a cup of tea and a long conversation, and she keeps a notebook on what each person has tried.

  • Kin Cai, an acupuncturist in a dark sweater, sits on a stool in a treatment room.

    Kin Cai

    Licensed acupuncturist

    • Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) · MA Lic. 000000

Kin grew up in the dispensary and sees many people who sit at a desk or stand on a shift all day. He explains each point before he uses it, and he is the one to ask if needles worry you.

The dispensary and the front desk

Who fills your formula and answers the phone

  • Yong Cai

    Dispensary manager

Yong weighs and labels each bag and keeps the written list of herbs that goes in it. Ask him how to cook a formula.

  • Dawid Dabrowski

    Dispensary assistant

Dawid handles refills and questions at the counter, and checks each bag against its order before it goes out.

  • Michael Dowd

    Front desk

Michael books visits and tells you what to bring. Call him with questions about fees or the forms.

How we work

What you can count on from us

  • One acupuncturist at each visit

You see the same person for the whole visit, and the same two people from visit to visit.

  • A formula checked twice

Your acupuncturist writes it, and the dispensary checks it against the list of medicines you bring.

  • Fees told in advance

You hear what a visit or a formula costs before it begins, and you can ask for it in writing.

  • An honest word on your doctor

We tell you when to see your doctor first, and we write to your doctor if you ask us to.
